We have been hard at work in French class! Here are a few things that we have been working on...
1. Reading French instructions and following the instructions when coloring a picture
2. Learning our lines to a French Christmas play
3. Creating a book on a province or territory in French
Here is a song we use to help us learn our provinces/territories.
We will be having a quiz next Tuesday... Tuesday, November 12th 2019
October
We have been working hard on our writing and reading skills. Students have been playing various games to allow them to sound out words and recognize different French sounds.
They are continuing to locate the provinces/territories of Canada and their capitals!
September 28th - October 1st
We have started to review our blended sounds in French. Every week we will be reviewing a new sound/words with this sound.
We have also started our Social Studies unit. The Grade 4 students will be learning about Canada - they have learnt that Canada is made out of 10 provinces and 3 territories. They are working hard in learning how to locate these provinces/territories and their capitals!
September 16th - 27th
Students have been working hard on a "all about me" project in French. Students read descriptive sentences and color a mandala accordingly. After coloring the mandala, they wrote 7 French sentences that described them. Go see our work on Twitter!
We also learnt about French speaking communities in Ontario and celebrated la journée des Franco-Ontariens. We designed t-shirts to celebrate this day and listened to French music.
September 9th - 13th
We continue to play various French oral activities. This is allowing us to gain confidence with one another and to practice using the vocabulary that is being taught/revised in class.
We have also reviewed French sentence starters and worked on writing French sentences.
